Grapes grown from vines situated in the heart of the Swartland. All cultivars were separately handpicked early in the morning at the perfect phenolic and physiological ripeness. Partly destemmed into an open top fermenter and allowed to cold macerate for four days while punching down the skins. Natural fermentation was encouraged to start and pump overs were performed to aerate the must. After fermentation the wine underwent post maceration to maximise colour and tannin extraction before being softly pressed. Matured in old oak barrels for 12 months before being blended and bottled.

The wine has an intense ruby colour with a bouquet of dark plums and cherries. Hints of black pepper and dark chocolate intermingle with cigar box aromas to create a beautifully complex and layered wine. The bouquet is complimented by velvety tannins and a long finish.
